Wendy Chang, 74
She worked in an electrical factory for over forty years from 1992 to 2005. She now lives alone in her rented flat. Her favourite pastimes are watching the news or comedy and entertainment programmes. She enjoys food such as laksa and messiah, and she hopes to stay healthy and live life so she can continue to enjoy the food that she loves.

Anne Chung, 61
She is a cancer survivor. She is now retired and lives alone. She values passion, peace and independence the most amongst the many things that she relishes now. She is especially fond of fabric art and journaling, documenting her life in her diary.

Goh Choo Lee, 78
She left home at the age of fourteen. She was a bus ticket conductor for Singapore Bus Services (SBS) before working as a hotel chambermaid for five years. She now stays alone.

Salmah Binte Jamal, 74
She is a homemaker and had to quit school at the age of thirteen to take care of her mother. She enjoys reading books about art and self-improvement. She lives alone in her rented flat.

Susan Lam, 67
She worked in the hotel industry as a housekeeper for fourteen years. She loves noodles, especially Bak Chor Mee and enjoys watching TV. Especially Tamil serials about family. She now lives alone in her purchased flat.

Lee Poh Kway, 72
She worked as an office cleaner for ten years before retirement. She lives alone in a rented flat. Sewing is a huge passion of hers, and it has been a source of comfort for many years. She values her health the most, so she can move freely and spend time with her family.

Lee Yoe Mun, 74
He was a marketing executive for over forty years before his retirement. He was also his Mum's sole caregiver for several years.
"Happiness" is vital to him as he would like to spend the rest of his life having quality years with the ability to be both mobile and able.
Estella Leong, 68
She previously worked with the Singapore Armed Forces, Mindef, for fourteen years after leaving the banking sector, where she had worked for twenty-eight years before her retirement. She was also a caregiver to both her sister and niece during the period that her niece was receiving an organ transplant overseas.

Lim Bee Lam, 78
She started working at the age of fourteen, having worked as a seamstress and a sewing teacher for fifteen years. After which she worked at the Sembawang Camp canteen for five years and as a cook for a childcare centre at NTUC and YWCA for six years before retiring. She is currently the caregiver for her mother. She enjoys travelling and has visited Japan, Korea, China and the US.

Ngeow Siak Kim, 71
She owned a textile business with her husband and was also a seamstress at Toa Payoh Central. She was a sales executive at Emporium for two to three years before marriage. She also worked as a print setter for a newspaper. She retired after a stroke in 2006 and now helps out at her son's company. She lives with her three-generation family.

Soh Lay Eng, 69
She worked as a wholesale supplier for bookstores, including Popular, for over ten years. She was previously a Mandarin language tuition teacher for over twenty years. She currently lives alone in her rental flat. She loves to sing and dance.
"One must be brave, there will be peace after the storm."
She values her life and freedom, saying, "You only have one shot at it. There is no second take. It is important to have a good, kind mentality and a sound mind so that one can face the trials and challenges that life throws at you and be able to face and conquer them."
Linda Tan Bee Chan, 65
She was a private tutor for primary school students for over ten years before retiring. She enjoys line dancing and often participates in community and dance activities, as well as overseas trips with her husband. Family love and health are among the things she values most.

Tan Chiew Lian, 71
She started working when she was just thirteen years old. Her repertoire iincludes working as a factory seamstress, at a biscuit factory and as a hawker. She now stays alone in a rental flat. She loves nature, especially trees. She fondly recalls her childhood, where she used to climb trees to pluck fruit with her friends.
