Project Cheeep is a site-specific installation that explores how emotions are felt, shared and expressed, even possibly measured as part of the human experience. Central to the installation are handcrafted birds inspired by the common mynas that inhabit the Orchard and Somerset areas of Singapore. The installation draws from the mynas ’ unique behaviour of gathering in the evenings to create a cacophony of communal noise.

Their nightly ritual, often chaotic and noisy, is reimagined as an auditory collective expression of our day's encounters, challenges, and routines, reflecting humanity’s shared inclination to process and express experiences together, whether through conversations, art, or social interactions. As silent observers of human routines, the mynas bear witness to the unnoticed poetry of daily existence, especially in an urban context where individuality and community often collide.

By incorporating the mynas as visual and symbolic elements, Project Cheeep reflects the duality of urban life: the blend of solitude and connection, chaos and harmony, individuality and collectivism.
